We had another fantastic day with our learning buddies. At the beginning of the day we took them on an outdoor adventure through the magic hole and over to the frog pond. It was fun to witness the kindies showing the grade 5/6's how to manoeuvre through the forest and across the fallen trees to get to the other side of the stream. They even had to talk M. Devenney over too!
As they walked along the trails, they talked about the animal that they are researching (e.g., where it lives, what it eats, the sounds that it makes, etc...). It was very wonderful to to see kindergarten and grade 5/6 students communicate in such a mature and reciprocal fashion.
After lunch, and with more authentic and meaningful outdoor learning under their belts, the buddies came together once again to put the knowledge that they gained on paper, creating an animal research poster. This was indeed a mutual project, where the students all helped in various ways to make a terrific final product. Bravo les amis !!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!
