One way we have been learning about measurement is through pumpkin play. We've measured and compared pumpkin circumferences using string and height using Duplo cubes. We also cut the pumpkins open and guessed which pumpkin would have the most seeds.
Board games seem to be a big hit this year! There are so many skills that the children learn through these types of activities (e.g., taking turns in a clockwise rotation, subitizing, one-to-one counting, playing with money, losing, winning, respectful play, dealing with conflict, etc...). We would welcome any board games you no longer use at home and would like to donate to our class!
Halloween will be a lot of fun tomorrow! Please send your child to school in their costume. We will be having a parade around the school first thing in the morning.
Thank you for sending warm clothing with your child. We are out for forest play every day and in all kinds of weather. Mitten, hats, scares, warm boots and coat are so important!
Have an awesome night!
