Bon soir !
Friday is Crazy Hat Day. Be creative and decorate a funky hat with your child to wear this Friday! We have been up to some amazing things this month. We have been learning about first class levers in our attempts to create and test various sorts of catapults. We found a toad in the yard and some of the children put him in our classroom aquarium. Then they decorated the aquarium so he would have something nice to look at. After a little research, we found out that toads are carnivorous. So a few children went hunting for bugs and worms. Housekeeping: Missing items. If you happen to notice toys that you think may not belong in your house, please return them discretely with your child. We are missing a least 10 Lego figures, Lego pieces, My Little Ponys, action figures, dinosaurs, animals, and some blocks. These items are so tempting to take home to play with. Please ensure that your child comes to school with a water bottle, sunhat, and good shoes for running about. Please also apply sunscreen before they leave home. If you do send sunscreen with your child, please teach them how to apply it. Merci ! Have a great night! Bonjour !
Brrrrr! Il fait froid. Please remember to look at the daily forecast to ensure that your child is dressed for the weather. Today is definitely a day for mittens and a warm jacket. Upcoming Events: May 22 - Mme McMilland & Mme Tipler will be away for an Inquiry-Based Learning Conference. May 23rd - Jump Rope for Heart May 30th - Crazy Hat Day - The children are encouraged to decorate a hat for this special day. June 17th - Kindergarten celebration! We will being sending out invitations to families inviting you to share an afternoon picnic lunch with your child to celebration an awesome year in kindergarten. Hopefully the weather will cooperate so you can enjoy your long weekend! Wow, we are already approaching the half way point in the month of May! Where has the year gone?
We have been busy this month learning about colour intensity as the child mix food colouring and water, and develop their fine motor skills sucking up the mixture with eye droppers and watching it flow through coffee filters. We are excited to have the warm weather upon us. Please remember to check the weather forecast to ensure that your child is dressed appropriately. Hats and a morning application of sunscreen may start to be in order. If you feel that your child may need more sunscreen during the day, please have you and your child practice how to apply it at home. Water bottles are also an excellent idea now that we can start our long walks in the forest again. Math Night and Science Night were a huge success. Thank you to the parents who help to set up and organize and to those who joined their children in the fun! Merci ! Merci ! Merci ! I promise to post a few more times this week! Have a great day! |
