We have been working on answer the question, "Qu'est-ce que tu vois dans la forêt ?" ("What do you see in the forest?") and answering in sentences starting with, "Je vois..." ("I see..."). We are so impressed with their French vocabulary and see improvements every day. The students have created a T chart to keep score of the amount of French sentences and words they use and when Madame uses English words, when she should use French.
Je vois des branches.
Je vois des arbres.
Je vois des oiseaux.
Je vois de l'herbe.
Je vois un nid.
Je vois des plantes.
Je vois des oies.
Je vois des champignons.
Je vois des pins.
Je vois des feuilles.
We had a a few awesome inquiries. One was about shadows. Why they are longer in the morning? Why do they move throughout the day? How are shadows made? Another was about the key that was found in the forest. What does it open? Does it open the building by the splash pad?
Branches have been a great fascination. They trek them all through the forest and back to school. They have been painting them, examining them, building with them, and stacking them up in the classroom.
Mushrooms and milkweed are 2 other interests.
Reminder that tomorrow is Parent-Teacher interviews. Please remember to book your appointments online.
Merci et bonne nuit !
