We had a great afternoon at the Sugar Shack, where we were able to see firsthand how maple syrup was made in the past and how it is made today. Over the past couple of weeks, we have been learning about the signs of spring; especially about how the sap begins to run inside the maple trees. What a great way to solidify our learning through authentic experiences.
Again, we are so proud of "our" children and how eager they were to listen, learn, and share their thoughts with the pioneer presenters. Thank you too to the parents who were able to volunteer their time and supervise small groups of students. We could not do these trips without you! MERCI ! MERCI ! MERCI !
Last Friday, we made some delicious fluffy pancakes from scratch. The children really enjoyed measuring, stirring, and gobbling them up! Next week, the children decided that they would like to make vegetable soup, fruit salad, and bread - all from scratch. To make this a communal menu, we would ask that next week you send a box of broth, a vegetable, or a fruit to school with your child. Please label the item so we are aware that this is for our menu and not your child's lunch. Merci !
Bon soir et bonne nuit !
