Our second facilitated session was about the human body and how our circulatory, respiratory, and digestive systems work together. The presenter had a large doll that she could open to reveal structures like our bones and muscles. We passed around stuffed models of a heart, brain, and lungs. Very interesting! The facilitator discussed ways that we can keep our bodies healthy and working properly. Again, our students had lots of great suggestions about the importance of exercise, nutrition, drinking lots of water, and getting enough sleep. We finished with a game of freeze dance and the sharing of delicious and nutritious smoothies. Miam !
At the end of the day, we had some free time to explore the museum with our small groups. The children loved the water table, the bed of nails, the pin wall, the distorting mirrors, and, of course, the dinosaurs! What a fantastic day! Many thanks to the wonderful parent volunteers who were able to join us. These great opportunities would not be possible without your support!
