We continue to have so much fun in and out of the classroom. The children really enjoy interacting with their grade 5/6 Learning Buddies. It is a 40 minute period where the children engage in board games, reading, drawing, colouring, playing with play dough or in the sand box.
Thank you so much to our parent volunteers who came in today to give us a hand with Scientist in the School centres. Through scientific inquiry they explored five centres and learned just how magnets work. The children had a blast! MERCI MILLES FOIS, MERCI !!!!!!
A few weeks ago, the children asked if someone from The Lucky Iron Fish could come in and speak with us. A few emails were exchanged and today a spokesperson from The Lucky Iron Fish, Lydia, came to our class to talk about their project. It was a wonderful presentation and Lydia was quite impressed by the sophisticated questions asked by the children. Her presentation was very informative and we learned quite a bit of great information about iron deficiency and how their Lucky Iron Fish has helped 66 000 families in 66 different countries.
Ongoing/Upcoming:
Lucky Iron Fish: We continue to collect a loonie or twoonie towards our $35.00 goal. With this money we will be able to assist five families in need. This idea was initiated by the students. One of the boys donated a loonie that he received from the Tooth Fairy. Your children never cease to amaze us!
February 12th - Valentine's Party - Please have your child wear red, pink, and/or white. We will also be celebrating 100 days of school. - If you have the time, please have your child bring in a bag or artwork with 100 objects (e.g., 100 paperclips, 100 cards, 100 marbles, 100 cheerios, 100 dots on a page, etc...). Count out the objects in by ones, twos, groups of fives, or tens.
Have a wonderful night!
