This morning we played with new puzzles and games that were bought for the class.
We will be dedicating the day to Valentine's Day on Thursday, so please have the children wear red and pink.
Have a great night!
Please remember to have the children dress up as 100 year olds for tomorrow's celebration! We will be parading around the school showing off our age.

100th DAY CELEBRATION - IF TOMORROW IS A SNOW DAY, THIS CELEBRATION WILL BE POSTPONED TO MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH. Thank you for your understanding and have a great night! Thank you to those of you who attended our open house. It was really great to see such a large turn out! The children were very excited to have you come and show off what they have been learning. They spent the morning finishing up some of their 3-d projects and the another small group baked the last batch of cookies for the celebration.
Please remember that tomorrow is our Winter Play Day, so it is important that your child is dressed for the weather. Friday, we will celebrate 100 days of school. We ask that the children dress up as 100 year old and bring in 100 objects of some kind. Have a great night! The children are so excited about our Open House tomorrow! Another small group made yummy cookies with Mme Hillen in the kitchen. These were special egg and diary free cookies that we had to hide from the staff, as they smelled so good! Mme Tipler's group started out with a numeracy lesson (concentrating on number 2). Next they made planets or aliens using markers, 2 Styrofoam balls, 2 pipe cleaners, and 2 eyes. We ended our day with our book buddies. We also learnt how to add expression to our sentences by adding an exclamation mark at the end. (I think this is my favourite ponctuation mark!) Today small groups rotated between the computer lab, library, and classroom, where they placed literacy games, read books, made aliens or created spacecrafts out of boxes, pop bottles, toilet paper rolls, and duct tape. Oh, the fun we have with our recyclables! They are great to have and allow the children to really use their imaginations. At times, I am sure we look like a recycling plant! :)
We can't wait to see you tomorrow! Have a great night! This week small groups of children will be baking cookies with Mme Hillen for our Solar System Open House. Please remember that Wednesday, weather permitting, will be our FAH Winter Play Day. If the weather is not cooperating, it will be on Friday. Friday, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school. Forms for our 2 trips (along with the money) need to be handed in as soon as possible. Scholastics book orders are due too.
Please email us your preferred time for interviews too please. We had a kindergarten meeting tonight and we would like the children to dress up as 100 year old for our Friday celebration. Winter Play Day has been moved to Thursday, so please have the children dress for the weather! Merci! Have an awesome night! Interviews will take place on February 25th, from 3:30pm until 7:30pm. Please send us a quick email, via the "Contact" page, indicating your time preference. Merci!
Whether mentally or physically blasting off around the room, the children were continuously on the move. Mme Hillen created super-cool rocket packs. Please send in your empty plastic bottles, so she can continue this activity. We talked about abstract art today as we analyzed each child's representation of their favourite planet. These pieces of artwork are quite stunning. My daughter came in today to help around the classroom and to gain some insight into a day of kindergarten. Merci, ma grande ! Can you see 3 SK boys in the back of the first photo? Well they decided to "tattoo" themselves with stamps. I did get to them before their entire bodies were covered. If you scroll down, you will see them hard at work filling up our sentence board. It was both an exciting and exhausting day. I went to bed at 7:30 p.m. Have an awesome weekend!
