Oh, qu'il fait beau ! We continue to explore the local park and conservation area. Here is a list of just some of the benefits of outdoor play:
-Fresh air

-Mastery of fine motor and gross motor skills
-Watching the trees develop
-Listening to and seeing many different species of birds

-Imaginative play without the boundaries of a classroom or a noise level requirement

-Watching squirrels
-Finding nests
-Finding caterpillars and bugs
-Interesting smells
-Increase in inquiries and experiments
-Various walking surfaces/textures (mud, sand, rocks, dirt, soil)
-Increase in dendrites
-An ability to connect with nature and understand the importance of keeping our planet healthy
Outdoor play is so important to healthy development. Furthermore, the children are able to take these experiences and add them to their indoor play, artwork, writing activities, and so much more.
