Friday morning we started the day in our 2 groups. This was an exciting morning as the children named their groups: Les Bobos & Les escargots bananes. Les escargots bananes talked about what a logo is and how images are used to represent a team, a company, a restaurant, etc... and then we created our own individual logos to represent our "team".
Discovery learning was at its finest today as the children worked collaboratively in small groups creating puppet shows along with a stage and sign, "Cendrillon et la Belle au Bois Dormant"; our high school volunteer involved the children with a butterfly-making activity; a railway system, which later was enlarged by another group who created an elaborate bridge; some "gourmet cooking" in the kitchen, and the light table was used to create some beautiful pieces of art. The day ended working with our book buddies. They played some educational games on the library computers, read books in the classroom, and created a book together about things they found during a school walk-about.
We had an awesome day! Have a relaxing weekend and remember there is no school on Monday. :)
