There will be a garage sale tomorrow as a fundraiser for the grade 6's. Items will cost anything between 25 cents to 5 dollars.
Pottery-to-Go will be coming soon. Please have your child bring in $7.00 to cover the cost of the activity. Remember this could be used as a Father's Day present.
We are in need of your garbage. Please send us your recyclable items so we may learn more about sinking and floating through boat building.
French Scholastic Book Fair - May 8th, 9th, 10th - We are in need of volunteers. If you can help any of these days, please send as an email. Merci !
We had an exciting morning with Scientists in the School. Thank you so much to the parents who volunteered their time to assist with the centres.
Things we learned today:
The parts of an insect: antennae, head, thorax, abdomen, proboscis, and 6 legs.
How a mosquito sucks blood.
That a housefly throws up on its food and sucks it up like a sponge.
How the praying mantis catches a fly.
Insects use camouflage to disguise themselves as branches, leaves, & animals.
Insects have only 6 legs.
What a butter worm feels like.
The habitat of mealy worms.
And so much more.
Take a look at the photos and ask your child what they were up to today.
We ended the middle block with free time, making goop, playing in the water, and whatever else fancied the children.
Yesterday:
"Les Bobos" created poems and hand puppets while "Les Escargots bananes" learned about endangered animals, such as the panda.
