We have also begun to explore the forested area at the bottom of the school yard. This amazing green space eventually connects with the conservation land of Hanlon Creek and Preservation Parks. We have spent time swinging on the “monkey vines,” watching frogs and minnows in the stream, and studying interesting insects living on the milkweed pods. We feel so fortunate to have these wonderful community spaces nearby which provide endless opportunity to challenge our bodies and minds!
The beautiful start to the school year has meant that we have spent lots of time playing and learning outside. There are three neighbourhood parks just a short walk from our school. The children love swinging, sliding, balancing, and climbing!
