We continue to talk about what we notice and find throughout the day, while trying as best as we can to use our newly acquired French vocabulary. During forest play, small groups of children were working on their gross motor skills as they swung from vines and climbed trees. Another group was engaged in very adventurous imaginary fairy play. It was great to see them work and decide together how their play would unfold. Through these types of activities, children are building confidence and the social and emotional skills needed to self-regulate and interact with people in their community.
During inside play, we sang a few French songs, read a book about a bossy pig king, and taught Gobo how to sing the alphabet (in proper order) and print a few letters. Gym was lead by a parent who had the children move around the gym like small trains, guided them through some stretching exercises, and ended the class with the children laying quietly on their mat, while they listened to light music.
Tomorrow, we will be walking to East Side Mario's, where we will have a tour of the restaurant, make and eat some pizza, and maybe even dance on the dance floor!!!
Have a great night!
