Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes will be examined in just about every way. The children have been estimating the circumference of pumpkins, lining them up smallest to biggest, weighing them, sorting them, comparing the colours, as well as painting pumpkins. Soon we will be cutting some open for a gooey sensory time and roasted the seeds. Miam !
As part of morning math circle, the children have been learning about patterns (feuille, citrouille, pomme, feuille, citrouille, pomme, etc.), graphing the weather for the month, counting the numbers on the calendar, the number of heartprints we have, and the number of days that they have been in school. I believe we are at Day 35! Bravo, les amis !
This week we are learning about the letter "Ii". We have practiced on white boards, on our friends back, with our shadows, and on paper. Please find the poems and words that we are learning each week on this website. Hover over the "Welcome" tab to find a pull down menu.
Have a great night! Bonne soirée !
Reminders:
Picture Day: Thursday, October 24th "Fromage !"
Half Day: Friday, October 25th - buses and pick up at school will be at 11h40
Pottery-to-Go: November 4th, the children will have a local artist come and speak to them about pottery, design, and glazing. They will have the opportunity to make something special to bring home. The cost for this activity is $8.00. Please send in your child's money in a well-marked envelop or Ziploc, with your child's name.
Weather: Please remember to dress your child in layers and in appropriate attire for the temperature. As new coats, mitts, hats, and boots are coming to school, please remember to label them. It is hard to remember who wore what to school and as our classroom is close to the yard, we tend to get everyones forgotten clothing. Labels will help us find your child's clothing. Merci!
