Our second workshop focussed on how our bodies work. We brainstormed what our bodies need to stay healthy: nutritious food, exercise, sleep, etc. The facilitator showed us animal picture cards, and we moved like each critter. Next, the students met KiM, the museum’s Kids in Motion mascot. The mascot’s body opened to reveal his internal organs. We learned about the functions of the ribs, heart, lungs, intestines, and brain. At the end of the session, we all enjoyed a fruit smoothie.
In the afternoon, the children got to explore the rest of the museum. There were so many interactive areas where the students could play and learn. Many thanks to the wonderful parent volunteers who joined us for the day! We really appreciate your support!
