During the middle block, the children enjoyed quiet time while watching the movie, Finding Nemo. We also attended an excellent electricity presentation and learned that, "electricity always wants to go down to the ground" and that we should always play safely around electrical wires and outlet. Remember to unplug your charger, as they are energy eaters.
We ended Beach Day creating a yummy "oyster" treat.
The children are becoming more and more aware of the importance of pitching in to help keep our classroom clean and organized. Ever since our sorting day, the children have been making an excellent effort of ensuring that manipulatives are being placed back into the proper basket. WOW! This is still a work in progress that can be transferred to home. Children feel empowered when they are given small responsibilities to do around the house (e.g. dressing themselves, hanging up their coat, straighten shoes, bringing dishes to the counter or dishwasher, picking out their own clothing, cleaning their room, picking up their toys, helping with the laundry, sweeping, feeding pets, etc...). They are learning so much by being included with the responsibilities of keeping themselves and their home clean and organized.
We think that all the children are responsible for bringing the beautiful weather to us for March Break, as the sun has been shining brightly ever since they started imagining that we took off in a plane to a warmer climate. Merci les amis !
March Break is a time to regenerate and enjoy being with family and friends. We hope that you will have a relaxing and enjoyable break from routines! We will miss seeing 30 smiling faces every morning!
Gros bisous !
