Pottery-To-Go was a succes in many ways. The children demonstrated their artistic talents, knowledge of symmetry, as well as their patience as they took their time adding detail to their oeuvre d'art. Wow, we were very impressed!
Our "Take Apart" table has been a big success too. Please send in any unwanted small appliances or electronics to allow the children to disassemble and explore inside.
The scientists of the class have been carefully monitoring the caterpillars which have all created chrysalises. These chrysalises are now hanging inside their mesh home where they will transform into beautiful painted lady butterflies. We can already see their wings developing. A lucky spider has also been added to our Science Centre, along with pieces of bark, a wasp nest, dried sunflowers, and a beetle.
Les Bobos have been busy creating beautiful tissue paper butterflies, as Les escargots bananes have been enjoying various types of educational games.
Important Information:
Our June 6th trip to the Butterfly Naturium will have to be rescheduled, as it conflicts with the FAH Volunteer Tea. We will keep you posted with the new date.
Thursday, June 13th will be our Kindergarten Celebration. The children have been wanting to have a Butterfly Party, so our celebration will be butterfly themed. This is a celebration for all family members to come out and enjoy the successes of their child (JK & SK). Families are asked to bring a picnic lunch, picnic blanket, and outdoor games if possible. The picnic will be from 12:30 pm-2:30pm and will take place at school. We will provide a cold treat (Popsicle or Freezie).
Unpredictable weather. Please ensure that your child is dressed in layers to ensure that they are warm enough to play outside. The weather has been so unpredictable day to day, and even throughout a single day. Thank you kindly!
Clothing. Please ensure that the shoes your child is wearing are appropriate for school and playground play. They need to be able to put their shoes on (laces only if they can tie them) as well as be able to play safely in the grass and on the climber. If your child is sent home in clothing that is not yours, please kindly wash them and return them to the school. We have extra clothing for children who do not have any to change into and we need to ensure that they are returned. Merci !
Toys in backpacks. We have found that the children are bringing classroom toys home and removed a box full of toys from at least 6 backpacks this week. We kindly ask that if you see "new" toys coming home that you ask your child to return them (beads, glass stones, gems, miniature cars, sponge paint applicators, wooden boxes, trains, counters, dinosaurs, My Little Ponys, etc...). Merci ! :)
Enjoy your weekend!
